Can I purchase books from your shop?
Yes, during the year (from February - October) you can come into our store and, if we have the item in stock, it can be purchased on the spot.

 

However, during the very busy back to school period (throughout January) we are unable to sell items over the counter. During this period you will be required to place an order and either collect your order from your school or have it delivered to you.

The majority of our parcels are sent via Australia Post receipted delivery. This means that the parcel requires a signature upon receipt. If there is no one available to sign for the parcel, Australia Post will leave a card for you to collect the parcel from your local post office. 

 

If your parcel requires a signature, you will have received a tracking number via email which you can use to track the location of your parcel. This tracking number is emailed to you by our staff when your order is processed. Parcels can be tracked on Australia Post's website - auspost.com.au.

 

In some cases, parcels may be delivered by members of our staff (depending upon your location). The email that you receive when your order is processed will advise you of this and estimate a delivery time.
It depends on what you have ordered. We process orders every day and, if your books are in stock, they will generally leave our warehouse in the post within a week. If many or all of your items are out of stock, your order will be sent once most of your items arrive. Please note that items may be sent in multiple deliveries depending upon availability. Please note that if you place your order late in the back to school season we cannot guarantee that your order will be sent out prior to the commencement of school due to the large volume of late orders that we receive.
We accept cash, eftpos or credit card (Visa and MasterCard only). We do not accept cheques unless they are from a welfare agency (e.g. WAYSS, St Vincent de Paul) and prior arrangement has been made with our office.
My booklist says that I need to order online. Do I need to pay straight away?
Not necessarily. If your school has a school collection date, you can pay and collect your books then. Just select the date that you will be collecting your books and then select the option to defer payment until collection.

 

If your school doesn't have a collection date or if your books are to be home delivered you will need to pay straight away.

 

What are your standard charges for school pick up or delivery?
Our standard charge for orders placed for school collection is $5 per order.

 

Our standard delivery charges are $9.50 for orders under $100, and $15 for orders over $100. This covers all orders placed in one transaction, provided the delivery address is the same. For example, you can order for a Year 7 student and a Year 9 student at the same time and you will only be charged once.

 

Most schools also have a period where these charges are waived if your order is placed on time. Please check your school's booklist or your school's individual page for details of this offer.

 

What is your returns policy on booklist items?
We accept returns on booklist items for a refund or exchange any time up to 15 February or two weeks from date of purchase (whichever is later). Items must be in new condition and proof of purchase is required.

 

Refunds or exchanges will only be made after this time on items that are faulty, or in other cases at the sole and absolute discretion of Lamont Books.

 

Electronic books, digital items, DVD's and calculators are firm sale. No refunds or exchanges are available on these items unless required by the Australian Consumer Law so please choose carefully.
