It is great to include in our selection of graphic novels this incredibly informative scientific work by Australian experts on the workings of the human body, particularly the gut, told in comic form.
Full of information about the symbiosis occurring in our bodies, highlighting the actions and interactions of various bacteria in our gut, I found it intriguing.
The story is set in the gut of a new baby in the first years of it’s life. As a grandfather of five, with the littlest only two months old, it was fascinating to learn how our actions can potentially impact on the gut microbiome.
The majority of the book is told in graphic novel format, but the inclusion of further and more detailed explanations at the end of the book will be appreciated by those who want to delve more deeply into the subject.
It will suit all secondary students, but will be most enjoyed by those who love science.
