Review

Maya and her three best friends love K-Pop. They especially love Sundaze, their favourite band. When they hear about a competition with a chance to meet their idols, they decide to enter. They make a video of themselves singing and dancing, and to their surprise their band LUME is selected as one of six new Aussie bands to battle it out in Star Song.

The competition is being held in Sydney and the girls are soon immersed in rehearsals against some incredible talent. Gareth St Kind is the mastermind behind the competition, but he has a fascination with star power and all of his previous bands are seemingly struggling to make any new music. Is he really stealing their energy?

As the competition nears the end, Maya and her friends are being pushed in all directions as they try to stop Gareth. Will LUME and their friendship crumble? Or will their love of Sundaze and each other get them through?

This is a great story for all those who love K-Pop. Maya and her friends are fantastic characters who share a wonderful friendship, and absolutely love playing Sundaze songs together. It also highlights that maybe fame is not always great, and that family and friends can be much more important.

This will be loved by those aged 9 and up, especially those who enjoy K-Pop.
