Review

When the PE teacher lost the key to the sports shed, the school decided to replace sport with more mathematics, which has all of the kids upset.

Our three main characters, Max, Daniel and Natalie, are all autistic, and they all enjoy maths. So when Max suggests that they use their special talents to find the missing key, bring back sport, and become superheroes in the eyes of the classmates, the others reluctantly agree.

They will need to overcome many obstacles to succeed, but can our unlikely heroes use their special abilities to save the day?

This is a wonderful and funny novel about three unique autistic kids. In particular, it highlights how even though they are all autistic, our three 'superheroes' are different and special in their own ways. It explores the challenges that these kids face everyday, as well as how their differences can also be their strengths.

This is a terrific and entertaining novel that will best suit primary school readers aged 8 to 11 years.
