Finally, Nanny Piggins sets the record straight and reveals what really happened 3,000 years ago on the most epically awesome journey of all time - The Odyssey! Spoiler alert - Homer totally left out the fact that Odysseus was a staggeringly beautiful woman and a pig.
Travel with Odysseus and her crew as they face man-munching monsters, Greek Gods with rage issues, Sirens brandishing cake batter to tempt sailors to their doom and a forbidden sausage sizzle on the Island of Helios.
This is the perfect book for before bed, avoiding homework or for those times when you're shipwrecked on a desert island, perhaps because you've angered the Sea God Poseidon by poking his son in the eye.
Nanny Piggins is back to tell the story of the greatest voyage of all time, The Odyssey.
Of course, Odysseus is a gorgeous female pig and therefore a long-ago relative of Nanny, as this story is from over 3000 years ago.
Odysseus and her crew must face monsters, sirens, giants who eat some of the crew in one mouthful, and six-headed lizards. They will spend a year on an island eating cake and not doing much of anything.
They also need to try and not upset any more of the Greek Gods, if they can help it. Zeus and Poseidon are both furious with her, but she is cunning and smart and Odysseus is sure she will eventually find her way home - even if does take her years and years!
This is Nanny Piggins in full flight with lots and lots of chocolate cake and chocolate milk to make sure that Derrick, Michael and Samantha have plenty of energy to listen to her story. Given it’s a very long story, this takes Nanny Piggins many days to tell so there are a few other adventures thrown in along the way, including missing school and taking the bus driver and all the other students with her, and eating lots more cakes.
This will be thoroughly enjoyed by those who love Nanny Piggins, particularly those who have enjoyed her previous takes on the classics. Perfect for those aged 9 and up.
