Description

I'm not on social media, but everyone knows all about my life - from birth - thanks to Mum's Instagram, The Chronicles of Vee. It used to be a bit of fun, but when we got to 100,000 followers, Mum's started to take it way too seriously.

My mission?
Stop my mum posting everything about my life.

How?
1. Become Anti-Vee and make my life unfollowable.
2. Make Mum's life more exciting than mine so she posts stuff about herself instead.

Easy, right?
That is, until Anti-Vee becomes more popular than the real Vee. Can I ever make Mum cool enough to start her own Instagram or am I doomed to have everyone following me forever?!

Review

Poor Vee! You would think that she would love being an Instagram star  -  the attention, the free clothes and everyone wanting to be part of her ‘insta-world’

But life for Vee is not all that it seems. Her mother is obsessed with the Chronicles of Vee, and how many followers and likes that they get. All Vee wants is to be herself, and stop all the posed photos and comments.

Vee really just wants her Mum to connect with her, and for her Mum to start living her own life. So Vee sets a plan in motion to fix things. But this turns out to be harder than Vee ever thought it would! How is she going to make her plan work and be a normal girl?

Oliver Phommavanh really has tapped into the ‘social media obsessed world’ that so many people find themselves caught up in. It is a great story about finding out about who you really are and who is really important in your life.

It is a wonderful read for all students in Year 5 to Year 8.
