Review

Ember is tiny and doesn’t fit in anywhere, until one day Lau the sea turtle takes him across the ocean to a school for little creatures.

On the journey Ember learns lots of interesting things about the world from Lau, and she encourages him to never give up.

When Ember lands on the island there is another new student starting the same day- but they don’t hit it off, and Ember quickly discovers that starting school and making new friends is hard.

His teacher takes the students exploring on the wonderful island, and when Ember and his classmates have to face a strange, enormous creature maybe the only way to survive is to help each other?

This is a fun, whimsical and entertaining book about friendship and looking beyond appearances. Ember is kind, brave and curious about his world and this is a perfect story for readers in middle primary and above.
