Lily hates show-and-tell at school. She never has anything interesting to take, unlike all the other kids in the class, who bring in things from vets, zoos and museums.
So when her Dad surprises her and says they are going to get a dog, she now knows that she has something wonderful to take to school. JJ may not have been the smartest dog at the animal shelter, but that is all about to change, as JJ can now talk!
But Lily isn't the only one with something interesting for show-and-tell. Carla has brought in Gregg the Egg - a giant T-Rex egg that is the town’s mascot. But when it goes missing, JJ is the prime suspect. Will this all end in disaster? Or can JJ’s new found ‘smarts’ help him clear his name?
This is the first story in Anh Do’s new series, Smarty Pup, that is aimed at junior to middle primary students. The vivid and large illustrations will certainly add to the appeal for your students, and they will love Lily and JJ.
