Bernie’s Mum is a scientist. After she was fired from the university where she worked for her belief that cryptids, or mysterious animals, could exist, she has a mysterious new job.
The new job is top secret, and will mean that his Mum will be working away from home, in aplace that no one is allowed to know about.
This doesn’t sit well with Bernie, so he decides that he is going too. Although no one else knows about this plan - well they don't until he gets caught!
What Bernie finds is mind blowing. A secret island, known as Monster Island, that is full of roaming dinosaurs, strange creatures and mushrooms everywhere.
He teams up with Ivy, a head strong girl, who just happens to be the daughter of the island’s owner and creator.
When strange drones start appearing, they are determined to find out what is really going on. But what trouble will they cause by doing so?
This is an action-packed adventure story, and Bernie is a character that you will love and want to see succeed, as he attempts to put things right. Dinosaur loving students will particularly enjoy this book, and it is best suited to those in middle to upper primary.
