Who would have thought that buying something from a charity shop would result in becoming caught up in an old murder mystery!
But this is exactly what happens to thirteen-year-old Grace after she purchases what she thinks is the perfect new winter coat.
Once Grace starts wearing it, she immediately starts to have visions – and they aren’t good! They are vivid and feature a young girl named Liv, who Grace is convinced has been murdered.
Grace sketches what she sees and after telling her best friend, Suzy, they decide to investigate and try to find out exactly what happened to Liv. The small diary that she finds hidden in the coat also gives them some clues as to what might have happened.
But there are those from the past who realise what Grace is up to, and are determined that the truth should stay hidden, and they will go to any lengths to make sure that she is silenced. Grace will need all her courage and quick thinking to ensure that she doesn’t face the same fate as Liv...
This is a fabulous murder mystery that will have the reader along for the ride with Grace - hoping that she finds out the truth but also that Grace does not become a victim herself!
Grace and Suzy are both determined and resourceful characters, and this is a great story about working together to try and right a wrong from the past that readers in lower secondary will love.
