Felix Marigold is given an extraordinary pet to look after by his eccentric Aunt Opaline (who also happens to be a brilliant scientist). He quickly discovers that his pet is a baby crocodile! However, Jupiter is no ordinary croc. Together with his new best friend Autumn Black and her pet ferret, they must figure out why the most dangerous animals on earth are behaving like puppies, while trying to avoid the four Caitlins, who are intent on exposing Jupiter and sending him back to the swamp where he belongs. Will the Caitlins ruin everything?

Felix is asked by his scientist aunt to look after her baby crocodile, Jupiter, but she tells him to keep him at home, and if anyone asks to tell them he is a lizard. But it’s bring your pet to school day! So Felix decides to take Jupiter with him to school. What harm could that possibly do?
The mean girls of the school (who are all called Caitlin) are certain that Jupiter is a crocodile, especially when all their dogs go missing, and they are determined to find out the truth.
Felix and his new friend Autumn have to figure out why Jupiter is behaving like a puppy and not a fearsome crocodile, and stop the four Caitlin’s before they have him sent to a swamp.
This is fun story about animals, particularly Jupiter the crocodile, science, family and friends. It has wonderful themes about the environment, how precious the ecosystem is and how dangerous this would be if it was out of balance. Felix and Autumn are great characters who quickly become friends.
