Evangeline (Evan) Bright is an almost-18-year-old American. She knows that she is the illegitimate daughter of the King of England, but she has never had any contact with him. Her mum suffers from schizophrenia, and Evan was taken in by her grandmother when she was only 4 years old.
After her grandmother died 7 years ago, Evan has been sent to a series of boarding schools. When her ninth boarding school decides to expel her due to possible arson charges, her royal minder decides that it is time to move her to London.
This move throws both the royal family and the media into a frenzy, and it is only heightened when she becomes the prime suspect in the murder of the son of a media mogul.
Will Evan ever become part of this powerful family and take her rightful place in society?
Set in modern times, with a premise that is totally believable, you become rapt up in Evan’s story and the well-written murder mystery and surrounding royal scandal. Filled with family secrets, royal opulence and protecting the family at all costs, this is an easy to read book that is a whole lot of fun. Those aged 13 and above will love this.
