Saskia loves to collect anything that sparkles.
At school, she would spend lunchtime with her best friend Priya searching for anything that sparkled.
One day when Priya is away, Saskia finds herself alone, but near a group of kids thatshe doesn't know very well. But when one of them, Athena, produces a sparkling quartz gem to show her friends, Saskia can’t help but be interested. Athena says that it is special because it looks like a diamond.
But when Saskia says she has a real diamond at home and they agree to trade, she knows she now has a real dilemma on her hands. How is Saskia going to get out of this, when she doesn’t really have a diamond at home?
With the help of her Dads, they come up with a plan to do the right thing. But little does Saskia know that Athena has told her Mum and they have also come up with an idea to solve the problem!
This is a delightful story for emerging readers about asking for help, telling thetruth, friendship and enjoying everything sparkly!
