Description
In this origin story, pygmy sloth, Romeo Fortez, is born on remote Escudo Island. At his naming ceremony, a once-in-a-millennium event imbibes him with powers of speed, intelligence, and irresistibly hypnotic good looks. When Romeo moves to New York he discovers that Professor Ian Weird-Warp, a geneticist obsessed with splicing animal genes together, has unleashed a gigantic mutant shar-wolf on the city. With the help of some new human and animal friends, Romeo forms a team of crime fighters to save the city from the evil Professor Weird-Warp and his mutant creation.

Romeo Fortez was destined for greatness. At his naming ceremony, a strange event happened that saw special powers infused in him, as well as hypnotic good looks!
But Romeo isn’t your typical pygmy sloth. He always wanted to explore, not just hang around like the others. So when tourists come to his tiny island, and he is introduced to what life is like in the big city, he decides that it is the life for him - so off to New York he goes!
New York is completely different to Escudo Island - the lights, the noise, the traffic. Romeo starts to wonder if New York really is his destiny...
He has come across so many different animals in New York, but one that he sees on the Brooklyn Bridge is something else. It is a colossal creature that appears to be half wolf and half shark. But what is it and where did it come from?
Romeo is not the only one wondering this, and he finds himself teaming up with new friends, both animal and human, as they try to unravel what is really going on. Maybe New York really is where Romeo, the Super Sloth, is meant to be?
This is an action-packed and highly entertaining story that junior to middle primary students will love, and they will be looking forward to more of Romeo's adventures!
