Description

Imagine if your baby sister could make wishes come true...The second book in a funny, magical new series for early readers.

It's a big day. Flick is leading book club for the very first time. It doesn't help that her little sister is super cranky. Birdie is sick of being told she's not big enough to do things. She's making lots of silly wishes and being big is one of them.

How can Flick do a good job at book club when there's a giant baby Birdie in the library?

Review

Before she died, Granny Aggie wished that the imp would give her grandbabies unlimited wishes.

But the cheeky imp knew that Flick wasn’t really a baby, and so only her little sister Birdie has the power to wish for whatever she wants. But Birdie is still very young, and having unlimited wishes is a recipe for disaster.

During a trip to the library, where they run into their nosey neighbour Mrs Mortlake, Birdie has to make some wishes of course! The mountain of apple snacks was one thing, but then four puppies, and finally Birdie’s wish to grow bigger - and suddenly it’s becoming extremely difficult to hide her powers. Can they manage to keep her secret? And will Birdie learn to control her wishes?

This is a delightful junior reader, and I really hope that the series continues. A great book for emerging readers.
