Amelia and her family are on the move—they are leaving the city to start a new life running a hotel in Forgotten Bay, a quiet town on top of a cliff. At least that’s what Amelia’s parents tell her and her brother!
When they arrive in Forgotten Bay their hotel turns out to be very run down, and slightly strange. Electronics don’t seem to work properly.
The caretaker Tom is strange too, and Amelia is convinced that he is up to no good.
As things become more mysterious, Amelia and her new friend Charlie become more and more determined to uncover what is really going on at The Gateway Hotel. And they are in for a serious shock when they discover that The Gateway Hotel might be living up to it’s name…
A really enjoyable, fast paced mystery that I finished in one sitting. As the start of a new series this book ends with the reveal of the big mystery that sets the scene for future stories and leaves the readers hanging for more adventures. Luckily, with Book 2 in the series also out now they won’t have to wait!
