Review

In the second title in this delightful series from Jane Godwin and Robin Cowcher, we follow Isabelle and her best friends Izzy and Harry B as they begin Year 2. With four stories in one, this is a wonderful format for emerging readers. Book 1 was part of our selection in March.

A new year brings new adventures and challenges for Isabelle and her friends. In the first two stories in this instalment, they are faced with the excitement and fear of their first school sleepover and their experience of ‘forest school’ and dealing with an injury.

But the biggest news is left for the third story, News and Views! Isabelle is excited to be able to bring her baby cousin, Bibi, to school, but it is Harry’s announcement that he is moving to Alice Springs that is the biggest surprise. Isabelle is upset that she didn't know, and can’t believe that Harry doesn't see it as a big deal. How are they going to stay friends?

In the fourth story, Harry and the girls are preparing for the school concert, but there are a few surprises too, so I won’t spoil it by telling you what happens!
