'Witches and Wizards, Sorcerers and Enchanters, by the magic granted to you, you must solemnly promise to keep your powers a secret forever ...'
Lily Halfmoon has just moved to the town of Piedraville. New house, new school and... new powers?
Surprise - Lily is a witch! She must learn magic, and find her animal guardian and gemstone, while keeping her new identity a secret.
Protecting the people of Piedraville from evil is no easy task. Especially when a dangerous creature is on the loose. Will Lily finally discover her gem's unique power with the help of her new friends, Gigi and Mai, all without attracting attention?
Lily is starting at a new school and is feeling nervous.
So when she meets Mai and Gigi and they want to get together after school to do homework in the library, she reluctantly says yes.
But this is no ordinary library! Lily soon discovers that her new friends are part of a secret group who are all learning to be true witches - and they think that she might be one too. Maybe that explains the strange things that Lily can do?
To become a witch, you must pass the three tests: show you can do magic, find your guardian, and activate your magic gem given to you by your guardian. But becoming a true witch is going to take effort and practice, and of course, not everything goes to plan!
Throw in a plant eating giant animal, a nosy little sister, all whilst Lily is trying to find the power of her gem, and you have an exciting graphic novel about magic, finding your inner talent and friendship. It will be enjoyed by those in middle to upper primary.
