How is Flick going to hide a rainbow cat and a dancing dog from everyone?
At the Pet Play Date, Flick and her little sister, Birdie, are helping local seniors group The Busy bodies raise money for animals in need. There are some special pets waiting to find their fur-ever homes. But things turn wild when Birdie wishes to make the animals even more special in the hope that they will be adopted.
How is Flick going to keep a rainbow cat and a dancing dog a secret when a pesky photographer is snapping lots of pics?
The Busy bodies (the local group of over 60's) are running a special day called the Pet Play Date, using their skills to make and sell things to raise money for homeless animals, as well as trying to find new homes for them.
It sounds like a great day out, but Flick’s Mum is worried about what might go wrong if Birdie decides to wish for something. Flick’s Dad agrees with Flick that they can’t stop doing fun things just because of Birdie's wishes. The problem is the imp likes to have fun too, and that can only cause trouble!
From raining down dog biscuits, to a rainbow-coloured cat, and a cat that now looks like a lion, the imp is in his element at the Pet Play Date, and Birdie is enjoying the chaos that they are causing too!
But when all of this chaos, including the imp, is captured on camera, Flick knows she must think fast to stop the disaster unfolding. But is there more to how imp is feeling than just being mischievous? Can the animals all find homes and the wishes still stay a secret?
A great story about family, pets, friendship and acceptance, that will be thoroughly enjoyed by emerging readers.
