Bella and Cienna are sisters who love nothing more than when the family goes to the local swimming spot, called Washpool. Surrounded by bush, it’s their favourite place - their gran calls it magical. But on this visit, when the girls climb up beside the waterfall and over the rock wall, they are suddenly transported to another world!
They are welcomed by the mysterious Esura who tells them to go to the Summer Feast, where all the elders of their world gather with their people to celebrate. Along the way the girls get separated - Bella ends up with the Water People, and Cienna with the Fire Birds. Both promise to help the girls find their way home and keep them safe, and the quickest way will be to meet at the feast.
But when they get there they find everything in chaos - the Lady Dragon’s egg is missing and everyone has been commanded to help find it. Can the girls help their new friends to work together to find the egg, before it’s too late?
This is a great fantasy story about embracing new things and relying on the your own wits. Bella and Cienna are very different characters and both learn a lot about each other and themselves as the story unfolds. Full of twists and turns, this is an adventure story that also highlights the importance of friendship, family and trusting your instincts. Sure to be well loved by readers aged 10 years and up.
